Very nice quality webcam
I teach at a local university, and I am in constant Zoom or Teams meetings. Having a solid dependable webcam that provides clear video is important since I have to review materials in planning meetings that I need to respond to, and having a sharp image is critical.I had not heard of Nearstream before, but the reasonable price made me try them out… I’m very glad that I did.PROS-nice small size. I generally will be using this with a 27in Desktop Monitor, but it’s compact enough to use with my Mac laptop if needed.-good construction. This webcam has a soft-touch rubberized shell with rounded corners. The support base hangs well off your monitor, and there is a 1/4-20 tripod screw if you want to attach it to a stand.-nice sharp lens. I haven’t found any details on the exposure f-stop for it, but it works well across different light levels and is sharp. It can autofocus as well, so you moving around isn’t a problem.-good Settings Manager software. If you go to Nearstream’s website, you can download their NearStream Sync software for Mac/Win OS. This lets you set the FOV, saturation and brightness levels, auto-framing and firmware updates.-fantastic support! I had some questions when I first got it, and contacting support through Amazon was quick with clear information provided. Sharon helped me through my questions professionally and promptly. I had an issue with an intermittent line of pixels showing up, but with a quick replacement, I am not having that issue any longer.CONS-no lens privacy cover. There is a tiny LED that shows that there is an active connection, but I’d still like to find a wraparound cover for peace of mind. Sharon in Support showed me an alternative privacy method… tilt the webcam forwards 90° degrees so it points downwards. That works for now, but I might see if I can cut a ring from a bike tire inner tube to wrap over the webcam.-MacOS NearStream Sync won’t quit in the Dock Panel. I generally want my apps to close properly, but apparently, running the NearStream Sync app will leave a memory-resident version even after you quit the app. You can either restart, or go into the Activity Monitor, and find the NearStream app icon and quit from there.SUMMARYThis is a much better webcam than its price may suggest, and the support is prompt and detailed. It’s refreshing to find a company that gives the level of support that I had.In multiple video sessions, it’s clearly visible who has a basic 1080p vs a 4K webcam; the quality of the image is striking for a very reasonable price.If you are thinking about upgrading your webcam, this NearStream VO8AF is definitely one that you should consider. It’s a solid webcam with great support and very minor issues.

Don’t have a lot of experience with usb cameras but I don’t like the idea that have to use additional software for make it work well. Would rather use internal camera.It works with Teams well.

The webcam is small and lightweight.The image quality in good lighting is acceptable.The NearSync software is a pain to use. The UI keeps freezing. Looks like the developer has never heard of multiple threads. There is no resolution and frame-rate configuration. I could only see the maximum of 30 FPS for 1080P in OBS Studio.The FOV issue was fixed with a firmware update, version: V1.0.0.4.R.240719.Can’t comment on the mic’s noise cancelling feature as I haven’t found a good test for it.

Great 4K Webcam for Clear Video and Easy Setup
Iâve been really impressed with this 4K webcam. The video quality is top-notch, and the 1080P at 60fps option makes for smooth streaming and calls. The autofocus and AI framing features work well, keeping me centered and focused. I also like the adjustable field of view, which is perfect for different types of meetings. The noise-canceling mic picks up my voice clearly and reduces background noise. Itâs easy to set upâjust plug it in and go. Overall, this webcam has been a great addition for work and streaming.

High quality and wide angle.
I’ve been a streamer for a while using a Logitech C920 camera as my go to. The quality of this camera is much higher. The picture is clearer and less grainy. It’s a 4k picture and a wider angle of view without the distortion of many of the wide angle cameras. I would highly recommend if you need a wide angle camera. If not, you can always crop and still get a nice picture.

Ich habe nach einigen Jahren meine Webcam erneuern müssen und mich für diese entschieden…..unglaublich, wieviel Kamera man hier f+r sehr kleines Geld bekommt. Gestochen scharfe Fotos, Autofokus…..super Mikro….einfach eine fantastische Kamera ohne groÃen Aufwand …einfach USB Stecker rein und läuft… Klasse!!!

Webcam UVC 4K, dotata di fuoco variabile (con autofocus) e microfono; cattura immagini e audio di buona qualità , magari non eccellenti in condizioni di bassa luminosità ma sicuramente molto superiori alle webcam di tanti laptop.Di default lavora con campo visivo di 120° (molto ampio se non viene usata per una sala riunioni) e zoom/inseguimento automatico del volto, che trovo un po’ fastidioso. Entrambe queste opzioni si possono comunque regolare (restringendo l’angolo visivo, e quindi aumentando lo zoom, e disattivando la funzionalità di “zoom intelligente”) tramite il software del produttore (NearSync), disponibile solo per Windows e macOS. Lavorando su Linux quindi la webcam viene riconosciuta e dispone dei controlli di base (risoluzione, luminosità /contrasto/tinta, compensazione di 50/60 Hz, tutti esposti tramite UVC/v4l), ma non è possibile cambiare queste impostazioni specifiche (non sono esposte tramite UVC, ma sono comandi custom per il device HID associato alla webcam); fortunatamente, se si configurano dal software del produttore su un altro PC Windows o con una VM, le impostazioni vengono ricordate.La camera (tramite UVC) dichiara 30 FPS, in pratica non ho mai visto più di 25 FPS alle risoluzioni fino a 1080p, che scendono a 16-18 FPS a 4 K; potrebbe essere una limitazione del mio PC, ma in effetti ci sta che con la banda dell’USB2 non si riesca a fare di più (18 FPS su 480 MBps dell’USB2 significa circa 26 Mb = 3 MB a frame, che, con compressione MJPEG, mi pare plausibile).Nel normale funzionamento l’autofocus funziona in maniera ragionevole, e mi ha sorpreso riuscendo a mettere a fuoco anche oggetti a pochi centimetri dalla webcam; tuttavia in alcuni casi sono riuscito ad “incantarlo” su un fuoco vicinissimo, da cui ho dovuto un po’ penare (coprendo e scoprendo l’obiettivo) per farlo riprendere a mettere a fuoco correttamente.Tutto considerato comunque il prodotto funziona ragionevolmente bene, e lo consiglio.

Recibimos la cámara en un packaging que me parece cutrÃsimo. Un cartoncillo fino que a penas evita que la cámara quede dentro sin chafarse. Dentro contiene un plástico igualmente fino y poca cosa que conforma 2 compartimentos con la cámara por un lado y el cable enrollado por otra. Realmente la primera impresión es muy regulera. Se incluye un manual de instrucciones multi-idioma, con español incluido.La cámara por suerte tiene mucha mejor presencia que su packaging. Es pequeñita, muy ligera, de diseño moderno y muy tipo gaming. Tiene un soporte integrado para poderla fijar encima de un monitor o dónde creamos más conveniente. Yo por ejemplo tengo un router de formato vertical, y la tengo puesta justo encima. En la parte inferior dispone de un paso de rosca standard de 1/4″, con ello facilitamos ponerla en un trÃpode, brazo extensible u otro tipo de soporte.Para empezar a hacerla funcionar, tenemos que ir a la web oficial de la marca y bajar el software NearSynch (unos 100Mb). Una vez instalada y ejecutada la aplicación, esta nos detecta la cámara como el modelo V08AF. NearSynch nos permite configurar parámetros básicos de la cámara como el brillo/contraste/saturación, y otros más avanzados como el FOV (Field of view – ángulo de visualización), autoframing u orientación de la cámara (da soporte a vÃdeo en vertical).Haciendo pruebas con el propio software, lo primero que he visto es que el autoframing hace cosas raras, a veces es hasta cómico el encuadre que toma la cámara con nuestro movimiento o acción ante cámara ð. Me ha hecho unos zooms dramáticos que parecÃan memes.La cámara me venÃa con firmware 1.0.05 instalado, y a través de la aplicación he visto que existe el 1.0.08. La actualización han sido un par de minutos viendo el led frontal de la cámara parpadeando y listos, todo rápido e indoloro. Que con esto he visto que se han corregido un poco las rarezas del autoframing, aunque la sigue liando un poco jeje.Siguiendo con caracterÃsticas, dispone de varios FOV predeterminados: 45º, 60º, 75º y 95º. Esta último valor es verdaderamente un angular, podemos tener la cámara muy cercana que aún y asà podremos encuadrar mucho fondo (o hacer video-conferencias con varias personas a nuestro alrededor).La calidad de imagen es buena, notaréis diferencia de definición si comparáis con cámaras a 1080p. Pero necesitaréis complementar con algo de luz externa adicional para que lo podáis notar bien. Si tenéis un entorno algo tenue, no le sacaréis provecho.Tema micrófono incorporado no puedo opinar ya que tiro de mi externo dedicado. Pero vamos, es un plus que tenga cancelación de ruido si la vamos a usar en entornos ligeramente “hostiles” ð Teniendo en cuenta que cuesta menos de 100⬠y su principal argumento de 4K a 30fps, creo que es una opción interesante para adaptarse a distintas situaciones, tipo llevarla junto a un portátil debido a su bajo peso o bien en la oficina para reuniones grupales. Eso sÃ, no la recomendarÃa para streams gaming “en serio”, mejor optar por opciones que den soporte a 60fps para que cuadre el vÃdeo capturado con la fluidez de los juegos.

Qui peut le plus peut le moins, tel est lâadage !Et en lâoccurrence, jâutilise cette caméra uniquement pour mes audios professionnelles Teams.Donc la qualité de lâimage est là , la qualité du son via son micro également.Dommage toutefois quâil nây ait pas dâobturateur manuel. A revoir.
