Great performance compared to others with similar specs.
From a realistic standpoint, the Crucial X10 Pro offers exceptional speed and durability, making it a practical choice for anyone in need of reliable portable storage.Speed: Perfect for quick file transfers, video editing, and gaming.Durability: Its rugged aluminum case handles drops and bumps, and itâs compact enough to fit in your pocket. Its lightweight design makes it less prone to impact damage.Versatile: Available in sizes from 500GB to 4TB, itâs plug-and-play with Windows, MacOS, and Android. There’s no need to worry about the size of the drive since all capacities come in the same dimensions.Security: Built-in hardware encryption keeps your data safe.Bottom Line: Although pricier, its performance and features make it a solid investment for reliable, high-speed storage. From my experience, the Crucial X10 Pro outperforms the Samsung T9 in both performance and build quality in every way.Example: In my everyday use, I transfer 800GB to 1TB of data for personal needs. The Samsung T9 transfers at 30 to 60 MB/s, while the Crucial X10 Pro achieves speeds of 300 to 500 MB/s.

Transferred 420GB in 14 minutes! Stays cool!
This thing is incredibly fast, stays cool, and is relatively small! I created 3 partitions. One FAT32, one NTFS, & one exFAT. I was able to create a Windows 11 recovery drive in FAT32 in about 1 second (no system files), transferred a Windows 420GB system disk image in 14 minutes in NTFS, & the last partition in exFAT connects to my iPhone 16 Pro. This thing is very universal when formatted appropriately.

Super fast and reliable
Iâve been buying Crucial ssd for years, they all continue to work perfectly fine. Itâs a brand that has not fail me and hopefully this new external ssd will work for years. It really depends on what you are moving to-and-from the ssd but I was getting about +1,200MB/s on some personal big files and it went down to about 200-400MB/s when moving smaller single files (super fast!). Thatâs a real world test and not just some theoretical transfer speed. Iâm sure that with some specific files you could get up to the claimed 2,000MB/s write but I guess I donât have files like that right now. It also gets hot when working for a few minutes but not âsuper hotâ (they all do. SSD need to heat up in order to work at the designed speeds)The ssd comes formatted in exFAT and worked flawlessly with both macOS and Windows. It comes with a short USB-C to USB-C cable, but can use a USB-C to USB-A cable (bought separately) if your computer has no usb-c and of course your computer power and its ports versions will affect transfer speed. To finish, a super fast ssd drive that allows me to make backups or just move files around very easily and fast!I also bought a case for this specific model since I plan to take good care of it so i will last as long as possible.

Does not have hardware encryption and password protection as advertised
Full disclosure – I own a LOT of Micron stock, the company that owns Crucial, so I don’t make this review lightly (I hope my stock doesn’t get slammed). This product is advertised as having password protection with 256-bit AES hardware encryption, a feature that seems to be heavily promoted.IT DOES NOT!I purchased this product to replace a Sandisk Extreme Pro that is failing (yea – I bought one of Sandisk’s defective drives and I am losing data now). The reason I picked the X10 is because, like the Sandisk, it has hardware encryption. After receiving the drive I couldn’t find documentation on how to enable the password protection and hardware encryption.I contacted support and they acknowledged that it DOES NOT YET have these even though the features are advertised. They are still working on the software that goes with the hardware encryption. Product support asked that I PURCHASE a third-party software encryption tool and suggested WinMagic, Symantic, or McAfee, and that I use software encryption while I wait for Crucial to finish the software. Why should I have to purchase a third-party product to provide an advertised feature that doesn’t exist, especially a third-party product that offers an inferior version of that feature (software vs hardware encryption).I found a post by someone with the previous, Crucial X9 model, who reported the same response from Crucial support over a year ago and they are still waiting for the software. I told Crucial support about this and asked if Crucial has been unable to deliver the software for the X9 in over a year, will Crucial be able to deliver the feature to me anytime soon? They could not answer, but they were very apologetic and suggested I simply return the drive to Amazon if I was unwilling to wait.Returning the product doesn’t make up for false advertising!!!!I thought Crucial was a great company, Micron is a great company and has served me well as an investor, and Crucial seems to have great reviews, especially on the X10 (albeit mostly sponsored with buy now links), but to ship a product with an important advertised feature that doesn’t exist is absurd. I am shocked that none of the reviews I checked mentioned that this feature doesn’t work yet, and that many reviews touted this feature in their reporting. Did they actually review the product? There again, I guess that is what you get with reviews, even in major publications, that have that those buy now links.I simply wanted a hardware encrypted replacement for my failing Sandisk drive (I am not purchasing another Sandisk product) so I know my data is secure if the drive is lost. This product seems to be targeted to content creators, videographers, and photo journalist, and journalist (many of whom work in countries unfriendly to a free press).Journalists sometimes rely on encryption to save their lives and keep them out of jail. Content creators, videographers and photographers risk losing the rights to their work or their clients if their data is stolen. Why even promote this feature if it is unavailable?

Fast, essential
Great little hard drive. This is my 2nd time buying a Crucial portable SSD and is an upgrade from an older 2TB that I had. I also bought a little case for it that keeps it protected while mobile, holds the connector cable, and is a little bigger so that it’s easier to spot and not get left behind. This actually sped up my workflow because it’s so much faster than the old 3.5″ hard disk external drives I used to use. Transfers between my laptop and this drive are super fast with 100GB transferring in about 10 minutes, sometimes less. I just wish they weren’t so darn expensive. I would have two if I could afford it.

No da la velocidad que prometen, intenté en Mac y Windows y no pasó de 800 Mb y eso que también probé con varios tipos de formatos y cables Thunderbolt

I connected this to my laptop which was getting full. I moved a bunch of high resolution images to it and it is FAST! This is the fastest external drive I’ve ever had. Since it has a drive letter assigned, it is now included in my backblaze backup (which offers unlimited size for all drives on a computer). I used to use a NAS to store backups, but this is so easy, less expensive, and with backblaze cloud backup, just as dependable. The other bonus is how tiny this drive is. I was pleasantly surprised to see how small it really is.

The data transfer speed is truly the same as shown in the advertisement. It is truly a worthwhile product and can be used to connect to a Mac, phone, or any other device to transfer files at high speed.

Piccolo e performante. Velocissimo, compatto e di ottima costruzione: un alleato potente per chi, come me, si sposta spesso e necessita di continua archiviazione. Compagno ideale di Macbook pro, lo consiglio vivamente
