Fast!
Faster than the Apple SIM card reader we also own. The speed difference is noticeable for large photo and video files.Material and build quality are both excellent.

Must have UHS-II device or adapter for full performance
My application is photography, specifically with an OM-5 camera. The cards are used to move batches of images between the camera and computers, or as a temporary backup. I’m mainly interested in out-of-camera speeds. I’m not too concerned with shooting at the maximum burst rate, which could be affected by SD card choice.Does it work as advertised? Yes. Would I buy it again in the same circumstances? No. I would buy the SanDisk Extreme Pro 200 MB/s card for $21 rather than this one at the Prime Day price of $85, and certainly at the after-sale price of $110.I did quite a few tests copying the same directory of RAW and JPEG files between various devices. There were 1,758 files in 37 folders. There were also a few small video files, but mostly 7 to 9 MB JPEGs and 17 to 28 MB RAW files. As a reference point, I copied from a SanDisk external SSD to my desktop’s internal SSD, getting 780 MB/s. This simply shows that the USB-C port and the internal SSD would not be limiting factors. The USB 3.0 ports I used should also be more than adequate, rated at 625 MB/s or higher.Below I will omit the differences between my computer’s USB-C and USB 3.0 ports, which I tested both at the front panel and using the backside mother-board mounted ports. This differences were small.Back to the title – I mentioned adapters. To use the speed of this new card effectively, I had to get a UHS-II compatible adapter. It was the JJC device here on Amazon of $18.99: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09T63PQ1WWith this and the new card I got read speeds of 224 to 238 MB/s and write speeds of 79 to 87 MB/s. The read speed was around 78% of advertised, which is not bad for so many separate files. Write speed was only 31% of advertised, rather disappointing.Do you need the special adapter? Yes, if speed is important. With an Anker adapter which supports UHS-I I got read speeds around 76 MB/s with this card, much less than the 230 or so with UHS-II. Write speeds were about 45 MB/s, not much over half of the UHS-II speed. Why would I buy the slower UHS-I SanDisk card (https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-128GB-Extreme-UHS-I-Memory/dp/B09X7FXHVJ/)? It is a $20 card and I got write speeds 74 MB/s with the JJC adapter and 55 MB/s with the Anker adapter. With the JJC adapter the UHS-II card was only slightly faster, and with the Anker adapter it was significantly slower.Read speeds went like this. The UHS-I card gave 154 MB/s compared to 230 for the UHS-II card, which is a nice advantage for the subject of this review. To me it is not worth more than 5 times the price for 1.5 times the speed. That was with the faster UHS-II adapter. With the Anker adapter read speeds were practically identical and write speeds were actually better with the Anker.I did test with one other card, an older 45 MB/s card. I gave over 90% of advertised speed with reading, better than the newer cards. Writing was 50 to 54% of advertised. Adapter type did not matter much. These are now down to $12.18, but I’d probably stick with the 200 MB/s cards

One of the best SD cards there is
I had another brand I used in my EOS R7 (dual card slots) and had issues with the camera freezing during image review. After weeks of trying different things like swapping cards, changing the write order, etc. Since installing the Sandisk the problem is gone, so I can only guess the other cards were the problem. Sandisk is a solid brand that has served me well over the years.

Good Product – Shipping Concern
This memory card is perfect. Price on Amazon is comparable to Best Buy. The problem is with the shipping. Luckily I asked to have the product shipped in an Amazon box. Received a mangled exterior box, barely intact and luckily, the product and product box was not not damaged.

I’ve been using the SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II Memory Card for about six months now with my Canon EOS R5, and it has been nothing short of outstanding. As a professional photographer, I need a memory card that can keep up with the demands of high-resolution shooting and 4K video recording, and this card delivers on all fronts.First and foremost, the write speeds are incredibly fast. With up to 260MB/s write speeds, clearing the buffer during continuous burst shooting is remarkably quick. This is a game-changer when shooting fast-paced events or wildlife photography where every millisecond counts. The transfer speeds of up to 300MB/s also make post-shoot workflows much more efficient, significantly reducing the time spent waiting for files to transfer. One of the standout features of this card is its V90 rating and UHS Speed Class 3 (U3) certification, which means it’s capable of handling 8K, 4K, and Full HD video recording without a hitch. I’ve used it extensively for 4K video projects, and the performance has been flawless. No dropped frames, no overheating issues â just smooth, cinema-quality recording.Durability is another crucial factor, and the SanDisk Extreme PRO doesn’t disappoint. Itâs built to withstand harsh conditions, being shockproof, temperature-proof, waterproof, and X-ray proof. Iâve taken it on shoots in various environments, from scorching deserts to freezing mountains, and it has held up perfectly. Knowing that my data is safe no matter where I go provides immense peace of mind.Compared to other memory cards Iâve used, such as the Kingston Canvas series, the SanDisk Extreme PRO stands out in terms of reliability and speed. While the Kingston cards are slightly more affordable, the performance and durability of the SanDisk card justify the higher price. Iâve never had a SanDisk card fail on me, which is a significant reassurance when working on critical projects. The only downside is the cost, which can seem steep, but considering the performance and reliability, itâs a worthy investment for any serious photographer or videographer. If you need a memory card that can handle the demands of professional use, the SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC UHS-II is an excellent choice. Itâs fast, reliable, and durable â everything you need to capture and preserve your best work.
