Works for what I bought it for
Edit: I raised my review from 4 to 5 stars. I’ve over time decided just to leave it on all the time because I got used to it. I just dumped an entire glass of water directly on my keyboard for the first time in my life, and the keyboard came out bone dry except a couple drops on the back plastic side that I was able to just wipe off with a towel. The Protector did its job well.I bought this cover because I can’t replace the now-shredded cover that came with my keyboard since the keyboard doesn’t appear to be sold anymore. I was unable to find one with fitted keys that worked with this keyboard, which still works perfectly well, so I needed something that would still work with it. I work from home and eat lunch at my desk often, so I keep it mostly covered when typing to prevent snack crumbs or spilled drinks from damaging my keyboard. This cover still allows me to type fine while it’s on, but if I’m not eating/drinking, and I’m typing quite a lot, I’ll be removing it, unlike my previous cover, because it’s a little thicker, and my fingers fatigue faster with it on.I can still see the keys decently well through it when it’s on, although it’s definitely not clear, and better when I turn on the backlit keys. It’s a good size and seems sturdy. It’s a decent replacement that will keep the dust off when the keyboard is not in use and will give a good amount of protection if I’m working through lunches.

See, I thought I’d hate this…but I LOVE IT.
Ok, it’s just a sheet of sexy feeling see through floppy stuff (although I touch type, so transparency wasn’t a “thing”) and it stay’s put. I use cheap horrible key boards because keyboard have a high mortality rate under my care. (or lack there of). This sheeting came just in time for yet another new, cheap keyboard…and it still looks like brand new…no wearing off of print on select keys, no sticky keys from hot chocolate late at night.And get this…you can easily wash it and dry it and it still feels like new. I highly recommend.

Better than expected!
I killed 3 keyboards from small amts of water spilling into the keys. I first tried the keyboard cover (yes, the thing like a saranwrap with elastic that goes over the keyboard). If you pull it “taut”, the covers work well. However, my short nails kept tearing a hole near the “s” key, allowing moisture to get in again. So I then tried to use thick saran wrap. Same issue…the tears occurred near the “s”. Ok….so I then tried to protect the purchased plastic “bonnet” with saran wrap and the saran wrap tore in 2 days.The issue and reason that I reduced this to 4 stars is because this silicone layer doesn’t protect adequately against water! But it does protect against damage to the plastic bonnet. So I am using the plastic protector under the silicone cover and the silicone protects against damage to the plastic. I probably could do the same with saran wrap. This silicone protector is starting to stretch on the left hand side, but not so much that it’s causing issues. In retrospect, now that I see how this silicone cover works, I might have been able to take a 4mil plastic bag and tape it around the keyboard and it wouldn’t have torn. However, I must say that I like the feel of this silicone layer. No regrets – I was aware of the fact that this product doesn’t address the water issue. But if the manufacturer wanted to make a better product, they might have a way to be longer or more “envelope like” so that it could seal the keyboard from water.

Fabulous desktop keyboard protector
Perfect! I have one of these ultrathin silicone keyboard protectors for my ultrabook, and love it, so I had my eye out for a similar product for my desktop computer. This fit the bill perfectly. I have a Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 2000 with the number pad on the right side of the letters, and 2 rows of keys (function and shortcut) above. The dimensions of the key area is 16.25″ wide x 5.25″ tall, and this covers them all. You can see the keys clearly through the skin. When I first began using the skin on my ultrabook, there was a very short period of getting used to the feel and now I don’t notice it at all.Thank you for making this skin for the full keyboard size!

This a piece of silicone
This is not a true skin that fits over the keys on a keyboard. This a simple piece of silicone that does not stick or help with use of the keyboard. I removed after 15 mins because it was non-functional. Don’t waster your money on this item

well made but too small
Cover is sturdy but it’s too small. The edges of the protector get jammed in between the outer keys, especially the space bar. I tried putting down tape, etc but the edge of the protector only sticks out less than 1/8 inch and just keeps pulling back out from under the tape.Which is too bad because it’s a great cover otherwise – fits the keys well and has remained sturdy after months of use. When it wears out I will look for a different one.

It’s perfect!
There is a fold where the cover was made to fit the packaging. But I have a full-size keyboard, with a Navigation and Arrow Keys section. The fold is from top to bottom, to the left of the Pause and right arrow keys. It never moves as I type and is easy to clean.

I bought this as I have a bad habit of nibbling near my computer and thought this would be perfect to help protect the keyboard, instead, after about a week or two it started tearing, the texture turned from smooth to grimy. eventually after about the 3rd or 4th week it was garbage. Did give me a good idea but nope, not buying another one. I’m on my computer for up to 16hrs a day so for me this wasn’t the best idea, perhaps if I was only on my computer to check my email or check something out, perhaps, but for someone using their keyboard like I do, this isn’t recommended.

I have been using it since 2021 so more than 3 years and still working just fine. Although the see through visibility is less and requires frequent cleaning/washing, but its decent enough to protect the keyboard. One less star for less visibility.
