Nice long connector cable, more type C ports than others, built-in hdmi adapter, great support.
I actually bought this because it had one of the longest attached type C cables to a type C hub. Most of them have very short ones of less than a foot or even 6 inches! It also was one of the first type 3.2 C hubs with more than one downstream port, even though I did not need it at the time. Since then, I did end up using two different 4tb SSD drives attached to this and it attached to a thunderbolt port on my laptop. Later, I added a 4th monitor to my laptop using the hdmi port. I was already using the built-in graphics adapter for two built-in screens (lenovo twist laptop) and a thunderbolt LG ultrawide display, so I needed the actual built-in adapter. Turned out perfectly…However, I was setting up some new backup SSD drives and after about 72 hours of non-stop data copying, the high speed capability died on all of the usb ports. I sent an email to them and even though it was 6 months after purchase, they sent me a replacement in a few days! [they do a 2 year warranty on this item as of the time I ordered.] The new one is working fine. Hey, electronics sometimes fail. It’s nice to know that they back their products so well. Good bang for the buck!

Vangree did finally provide their vaunted warranty support !
Unlike most users here, I had a bad start with Vangree customer service. The sleek, well-designed unit seemed to work perfectly with my Lenovo X-1 Carbo and its Lenovo work station. Then one of the ports failed. For several days, I could not get any response from customer support. I was pretty disappointed and let down after the high expectations created by good product reviews here on Amazon. And I did not really see another product that offered all the usbc ports, usba ports, ultra light weight and small size.Although it took longer than I might have liked, the Vangree support was very apologetic and has fully stepped up to take care of the defective unit. They earned their 5 stars back from me after an initial rating of 1.

Compact, well made, and it works as represented
The USB Hub I have been using was not able to handle power and data to attach 2 SSDâs and my external CFExpress camera card reader to my MacBook Air. Prices and capabilities of hubs seems to be all over the place, with no two the same. This hub was moderately priced, and handled everything I needed, if it worked. It certainly does work. Iâm using an Anker 65 watt power supply plugged into the USB3 Power socket of the hub. I have two Sandisk 4TB SSD drives and an Angelbird CF express cards plugged into the USB3 ports and the output cable plugged into the computer. it all functions well as a single unit with good speed. I also tried added a 4 TB hard drive to the computerâs second USB3 port for file transfers and all worked smoothly.

The only multiple USBC data ports adapter that works with my iPad Pro
I switched from computer to only iPad Pro for years and have about 30TB media data stored in multiple external SSD. So, having a multiport adapter to copy data between external drives is essential. My last Anker adapter has two USBC ports but only one can transmit data, the other is power only and the rest are slow USBA ports. So this adapter with three USBC data ports and one power port is perfect. I use mostly Sandisk 2000MB/s and a few 1000MB/s SSD, transfer speed in between is slow but works. The only precaution is the need to use a bigger adapter to power all the devices. I use a 67w MacBook adapter which is good enough to charge my iPad Pro while having two 4TB 2000MB/s SSDs copying data in between. I tried 30W Anker single port adapter which is ok to charge one 2TB 1000MB/s SSD and iPad Pro, once I plug in additional SSD iPad Pro stops charging and often all devices will stop charging and I have to unplug and plug them back in. If there is anything I donât like is the USBC power port is on the top, so you have one cable on the top connecting to power adapter and three USBC data ports below so itâs a very awkward arrangement, cables get tangle up easily and push SSDs to stack up overheat fast, why donât they put the power port at the bottom instead? There are three USBA port on the other side which I donât use. The data transfer speed between ports is slow, I didn’t measure it, but Iâm guessing 200MB/s when SSDs are cool. Conclusion, it works but if youâre a iPad user get a 67w power adapter.

I bought this for my Mac M1 and it works well. I use two USB-A ports for my headset (Jabra) and keyboard (Logitech) and one USB-C port for my YubiKey, leaving 3 USB-C ports for occasional use. Occasionally I have to unplug the hub from the Mac to reset it as the keyboard starts acting erratically. That’s the only issue I’ve seen with it. It happens on average 1-2 times per week.I searched for other hubs with multiple USB-C ports & USB-A as well but this device apparently is the only one I can find. I haven’t really tried the power input so I can’t review that. I also haven’t tried the HDMI port.I do know I can charge my headset or mouse with the USB-A ports, pulling power from the Mac.About to purchase another for my Alienware M15. I need more than one USB-C port on it.So I guess I’m a fan of this hub. Even with the issue above, I haven’t found any hub with multiple USB-C and USB-A ports that is easily portable other than this one.Update – now using the HDMI port on this hub for my new Dell P2225H. Working great.20240918 – Update. I must have done something and now one of them has no power light. I went to the Vangree site and chatted with the tech. They’re sending me a new one – great customer service!

This device will allow for an additional 4 USB-C – 3 ports at 10Gbps, 1 at 5Gbps with power in for charging. In addition, there are 3 USB-A 3.2 ports at 5Gbps each. Rounding out the ports is a HDMI port. The device’s USB-C cable could have been about 6-8 inches longer but I have extension cables to alleviate that. Given the number of ports, this is a great device for the price I paid.
